Sherbet Sweets: Dips, Fountains & Filled Bars
In this sweet-shop guide, sherbet means a flavoured fizzy powder. You can buy it with a dipping sweet, find it in a Sherbet Fountain, or choose a chew bar with a sherbet centre. Start with how you want to enjoy it, then choose the flavour and pack format.
What makes sherbet sweets fizz?
Sherbet combines a sweet powder with ingredients that create its fizz. The Royal Society of Chemistry’s explanation describes an acid and bicarbonate reacting in moisture to release carbon dioxide. It is the powder’s behaviour that connects a dip packet with the filling inside a sherbet sweet.
That does not give every product the same texture. A dipping lolly, a liquorice stick and a chewy outer bar make quite different sweets around the sherbet. In UK sweet shopping, the term here refers to confectionery rather than a frozen dessert.
Dip Dab, Sherbet Fountain or Double Dip?
All three are familiar sherbet formats, but the sweet supplied with the powder is an important part of the choice. Use the format you remember, as well as the brand name, to find the right listing.
Swizzels describes the orange-and-cherry Double Dip combination in its fizzy sweets overview. The HRS Sherbet Fountain declaration lists wheat in the liquorice component, so the sherbet name alone should not be used to decide dietary suitability.

Prefer your sherbet inside a chew bar?
A filled chew bar offers another way to choose sherbet. Swizzels describes its Refreshers chew bars as having a fizzy sherbet centre. The chewy outside makes them a different format from a packet of loose powder and a dipping sweet.
The HRS selection includes strawberry, original lemon, sour apple and cherry cola bar listings. Flavour and pack size should be checked separately: a multipack of bars, a full case and a bulk bag of smaller chews are different purchases.
For the detailed flavour and recipe comparison, read the Swizzels Refreshers guide. It also explains the ingredient discrepancy recorded for particular HRS lemon and bulk-chew listings, which should be resolved against the current pack before relying on a dietary claim.
Compare retail packets with retail packets
A case of 50 Dip Dab packs and a case of 48 Sherbet Fountains contain different products and weights. Compare the individual format and pack weight as well as the case price. A larger case count does not by itself tell you which order is better for your plans.
If you are dividing a case for an event, count complete retail packets and keep their wrappers and declarations available. For chew bars, check the number of bars and the listed individual weight. A bulk bag sold in kilograms does not guarantee a particular number of chews.
The sherbet sweets collection brings the current listings together. Each product page provides its own pack options, price, availability and food information.
