A wedding sweet favour is an individual gift to plan and count. Start with what each guest will receive, then work out the packs and presentation you need. These ideas use standard sweets listed at HRS; bags, boxes, ribbons and personalised printing are not included unless a product listing expressly says so.

Swizzels Love Hearts Lipsticks Multipack - Choose Pack SizeMultipack — choose pack size
£1.00 · £0.25 per unit
Love Hearts original rolls give you a roll-based option: the listed case contains 24 packs. Giant Fizzers are another roll format, listed as 24 × 40g. Count one roll as one item in your favour plan; neither case count tells you how many individual sweets are inside each roll.
Love Hearts Lipsticks offer a different shape. HRS lists a 60-pack case and a smaller multipack with a quantity selector. The smaller pack can be useful when the quantity you need does not justify a whole case; read the selected pack count before adding it to your basket.
Make one trial favour before buying presentation supplies in quantity. Check that your chosen product fits the bag or box with its existing packaging intact. The product name and weight do not establish the dimensions of a finished favour.
Write down the number of people receiving favours, the items you want in each favour and any spare favours you choose to prepare. Keep day guests, evening guests and suppliers in separate counts if they will receive different gifts, so the same person is not counted twice.
Work in the unit you will hand out. For a roll-based favour, count rolls; for a favour containing two individually counted items, multiply the number of favours by two. A bag sold only by weight needs a separate portion plan: do not turn grams into an assumed number of pieces.
Suppose you choose one Love Hearts original roll for each of 70 guests and decide to prepare four spare favours. You need 74 rolls. With 24 rolls per listed case, three cases provide 72 and are two short; four cases provide 96.
After setting aside 70 guest rolls and four reserve rolls, 22 rolls remain because you had to round up to whole cases. You have 26 rolls beyond the guest count in total: four deliberate reserves plus 22 from rounding. Four reserves are simply the choice in this example, not a recommended amount for every wedding.
If that surplus is too large for your plans, reconsider the chosen format or compare an available smaller pack. Do not assume that a smaller pack of Love Hearts Lipsticks is a smaller pack of Love Hearts original rolls: they are different products.
For a one-roll favour, divide the current 24-roll case price by 24 to see the product cost per roll. Then budget for the actual cases you must purchase, presentation materials, any printing and delivery. A low cost per roll does not remove the cost of unused rolls.
Keep two figures: the cost of the sweets placed in one favour, and the total cash needed for the order. The second figure includes whole-pack rounding and any extra supplies. If you already own suitable packaging, do not count it again as a new purchase.
Swizzels offers personalised Love Hearts wrappers through its own shop. That is a specific personalised product, separate from the standard 24-pack original-roll case listed by HRS. A standard Love Hearts order does not promise your names, wedding date, a chosen printed sweet message or a “Just Married” wrapper.
For a personal touch using standard products, you could add your own separate place card or tag to the outer favour packaging. Treat this as a presentation idea you arrange yourself, not a printing or assembly service included with these sweets. Keep product information available to guests.
Confirm each guest’s requirements before choosing sweets for them, then check the exact product’s ingredient and allergen information. Brand names, colours and wrapper style do not establish dietary suitability. Keep any separately chosen alternatives identifiable during packing and handover.
When the order arrives, check the quantities, packaging, best-before dates and storage instructions against your event date. Assemble a sample, count the finished favours by table or guest group, and label the spare box so it is not confused with the gifts already allocated. There is no single guaranteed storage or preparation period for every sweet.
Keep sweets intended for a communal table in a separate quantity plan. A guest’s individual favour and their share of an open sweet table are different allocations; using the same stock in both plans can leave you short.
The listed options include Love Hearts original rolls, Giant Fizzers rolls and Love Hearts Lipsticks. Choose the format and selected pack count first, then test how it fits your own presentation packaging. These are standard sweet products, not assembled wedding favours.
At one roll per guest, 70 guests need 70 rolls, so three 24-roll cases provide 72. If you choose four additional reserve favours, the requirement rises to 74 rolls and you need four cases, providing 96. The reserve is your planning choice.
The standard original-roll case listed here is not offered as a personalised printing product. Do not expect names, dates, chosen sweet messages or wedding wrappers unless those features are expressly included in the product you order.
Presentation supplies and assembly are not included unless the exact listing says they are. Budget separately for any bags, boxes, tags or ribbons you choose.
No. A roll is a pack containing sweets. This guide counts rolls as favour items and does not claim a fixed number of individual sweets inside each roll.
Check the products’ best-before dates and storage instructions, and test your planned packaging before choosing a preparation date. Keep the original product packaging intact where possible. This guide does not promise one storage period that suits every product.
Yes, if the quantities cover both plans. Set aside the counted favour stock first and calculate the communal table separately, so the same sweets are not allocated twice.
